Have ideas on how you want to see the City support the the SoMa Community?
What Is This Project About?
This is an initiative of the City of San Francisco—supported by the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development. Alongside the SoMa community, the project will develop a collective framework that guides an inclusive and equitable process for how the City invests grants from a local fund to maintain a diverse and vibrant SoMa community. SoMa community members will actively participate in shaping a dynamic neighborhood through funding processes reflective of the people living there.
Project Details
From May 2024 until January 2025, there will be opportunities for the SoMa community to collectively design strategies that will shape a grant-making framework for the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development (MOHCD). This framework will guide how MOHCD and the Community Advisory Committee issue grants from the SoMa Community Stabilization Fund to local projects and initiatives. More about the Fund is below in the FAQ’s.
Over the coming months, community organizations, businesses, associations, districts, and community members will dialogue, collaborate, celebrate, and break bread. This project will document the types of projects, programs, initiatives and services the SoMa community wants to see receiving grants from the Fund. Please amplify the voices of the SoMa community, by sharing this website and its opportunities with SoMa residents, organizations, organizers, champions, and businesses.
